Nigerian activist and social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, has blasted President Bola Tinubu, the Dangote Group, and social media influencers following the tragic death of Ruth Otabor, sister of BBNaija winner Phyna.
Ruth’s death was confirmed on Sunday by Eko Solicitors & Advocates, representing the Otabor family. She had battled severe injuries for weeks after being struck by a Dangote truck near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State.

Reacting in a strongly worded video, Verydarkman accused influential Nigerians of abandoning Ruth when she needed urgent help:
“Phyna’s sister has finally kpai, a lot of people are lending their voices to the RIP but when we needed those voices to pressure Dangote to do the right thing, 19 days was what she spent at the hospital but many refused to post because it won’t give them engagement. You bunch are hypocrites, may God forgive your souls. Nigeria has failed us. President Bola Tinubu, you have failed us all. And to Dangote Group, are you happy now? You had the time to take that girl abroad to treat her.”
His remarks came just hours after the Dangote Group issued a condolence message, expressing deep sadness over Ruth’s passing. The conglomerate maintained that it had covered all medical and financial expenses since the incident and revealed that arrangements had been made to fly Ruth to India for advanced treatment—plans cut short by her untimely death.
