Multi-award-winning American singer Teyana Taylor has revealed that she will be undergoing emergency surgery due to vocal issues she has been battling quietly.

In a post shared via her Instagram story, Taylor explained that a noncancerous growth was recently discovered on one of her vocal cords, which has been affecting her voice and causing significant discomfort.

“That’s been messing with my voice and causing real discomfort. Thankfully, we cought it and it’s treatable. But it does means I nedd to pause and give myself time to fully heal,” the post stated.

Due to the surgery and recovery process, Taylor announced she will be stepping back from all scheduled appearances, including a guest feature on Michelle Obama’s podcast set for this weekend.

Despite this temporary pause, her upcoming album Escape Room is still on track for release on August 22, 2025. The project will feature 22 songs.
