Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has called on the government to ban prank videos following a heated altercation at Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday.
Earlier reports by Gistreel.com showed the ‘Zazu‘ crooner in a viral video wearing beige attire as he attempted to confront an unidentified individual while security officers and bystanders tried to restrain him.
In the footage, uniformed guards were seen struggling to pull Portable toward a waiting vehicle amid chaos in the parking lot. The scene grew tense, with one person appearing barefoot and another holding what looked like a belt or whip as onlookers gathered.
Reacting to the incident in a video shared on his Instagram page on Monday, Portable alleged that he had been ambushed by “death pranksters” — his term for people who stage dangerous or life-threatening pranks for online content.
Speaking in a mix of English and Yoruba, he said: “Those people came to prank me. They were death pranksters. It almost turned to cultist level. Ten yellow no fit stand one blue.” The singer claimed the episode tarnished his reputation and portrayed him as a victim of fake publicity stunts.
Portable further appealed to the authorities to outlaw prank videos and take action against bloggers who spread false information.
“Make government stop all those prankers and some fake bloggers. Make them stop all this fake news post just because of small fame. Why una dey spoil person wey get glory name with una platforms,” he wrote.
