Fresh controversy has trailed the Nigerian Police Force after documents surfaced online showing that the agency spent a staggering N22.282 million on cream cracker biscuits within three months.
The breakdown reveals that the biscuits were allegedly purchased for officers on operations between August and October 2023.
On August 30, 2023, the Police reportedly approved N8.136 million for 30 cartons of cream crackers for security operations in Yobe State. Barely a month later, on October 4, another N7.073 million was spent on 30 cartons for personnel in Taraba State.
Then, on October 26, records show that N7.073 million went into 25 cartons, under the category of logistics requirements and consumables.
The disclosures have since sparked debates online, with many Nigerians questioning how such large sums could be allocated for what critics describe as “overpriced biscuits.”
