Popular Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has officially completed cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice, sparking widespread celebrations online and offline.
The historic feat took place today at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, where the Akwa Ibom-born chef wowed thousands of supporters.
Videos from the event showed Hilda Baci adding massive quantities of ingredients into the giant pot, including several 30-litre containers of cooking oil, goat meat, and Gino paste, before pouring in 250 bags of rice. The custom pot, weighing between 1,425 and 1,430 kg, became the centre of attraction as the rice cooked to perfection.
The event pulled in over 20,000 youths and food lovers, alongside a star-studded lineup of celebrities such as Kaffy, Funke Akindele, Peller, Enioluwa, Opeyemi Famakin, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Veekee James, and Tomike Alayande, among others.
A final clip confirmed the exciting moment when the record-breaking jollof rice was declared ready for public consumption — marking a truly unforgettable milestone in Nigerian culinary history.
